Windows Store has big amount of apps

On official Microsoft web site written that Windows 8 has much available application software in the Windows Store – about 20 000 apps but they not revealed now.

The Windows Store is enough new and is not stocked with everything you may need just, but you may picked a collection of apps that will be useful for you. The are surprisingly large and full of useful apps for an OS and product this new.

There's now more than 20,000 but how big Windows Store will become in the not far future, according to an independent analysis. Microsoft says its Windows Store has opened with the highest number of apps of any new platform, but early adopters will likely find the pickings relatively slim to begin with.

The bigger problem is timing: The Windows Store would have been a hit five years ago. Today it’s just one of many app stores, and the Windows name no longer carries the cachet with programmers it once did.

This is the real issue. Now that Windows 8 is live and selling millions of units, as the Surface is out and sold out, Microsoft needs to ensure, using its cash reserves even more if it so requires, that the Windows Store is not just full, but that it is full of the right stuff.

Wise Words

My worry about losing the Queen

My worry about losing the Queen would be that she would still be entitled to take money from the Crown Estates. I hope when negotiations are taking place after the referendum, that the SNP would not go soft on this and on a number of other matters, like being over generous with the entitlement...

How to get indoor an orchids to grow and bloom?

The thing which, apart from Climate Gate, really knocked them sideways was that bitterly cold December 2013.

Louise wouldn't remember it because she was with Chris Huhne in Cancun at the time and kept telling us how warm it was poolside — while it was –15ºC here and...
