Google criticize opponents proposal before the end of the investigation EU competition

Google rivals began to weigh in on the details of the concessions it proposed European competition watchdogs as the search system seeks to avoid costly litigation.
The European Commission published the details of the proposed transaction for the first time, prompting immediate criticism.

Google proposal could end the threat of damage to the European Court of Justice and will be legally binding for five years. Should the investigation lasts for more than two years of protracted negotiations on the settlement.

Google rivals criticise offer to end EU

In response to charges she abuses of a dominant position within the common market web search to harm competition in specific markets, such as shopping and tourist search, Google will, inter alia:

  • label contributed links to their own specialized search services so that users can distinguish them
  • display links to three of your opponents specialized search services close to their own services
  • sites offer the possibility to refuse from the use of their content in Google specialized search services
  • no more force publishers only for display Google ads.

Why does the European Commission waste tax-payer's money to prop-up lame ducks that no-one wants to use?

The negligible switching costs of  the internet means it is inevitably a 'winner takes all' environment. But build a better mousetrap and they will come!

As a general purpose, English language, search engines, all Google's rivals died of neglect long ago.

<• label promoted links to its own specialized search services so that users can distinguish them> Ugh, they already do? Surely you have to be pretty ignorant not to see that.. Go to google, get search from google, and services by google, pretty much what I expect when I go to google!

<• display links to three rival specialized search services close to its own services> whatever, as long as I can turn them off. I go to google for a reason. That reason being they actually return the result I want. Amazingly I don't use other search tools because they don't.

<• offer websites the option to opt-out from the use of their content in Google's specialised search services> And this years first Darwin Award goes to the first website to be stupid enough to do this..watch them collapse and dissappear in oblivion quicker than old iPhones from a hipsters pocket.

<• no longer force publishers to only display Google advertising> Why? Plenty do this too, why is it ok for other companies to have exclusive deals but not google? If people don't want to obey the rules laid out by google, for google, then they also surely do not want part of the google profit pie?

It's not okay for Google do things like this because of their large search market share. At least, that's what people say about why it's not okay for Microsoft to bundle products with Windows.

    Google rivals - sour grapes.

At least Google looks after the consumer by providing for free what their rivals would charge for, whereas their rivals see consumers as cash cows.

Wise Words

"When we finally presented it at the shareholders' meeting, everyone in the auditorium stood up and gave it a five-minute ovation. What was incredible to me was that I could see the Mac team in the first few rows. It was as though none of us could believe that we'd actually finished it. Everyone started crying."

Although this is the first post about my four hour workweek, it did not just start for me. If you read the about me section, that was almost a year ago. So how did I do? Well, I've made some progress. By falling and standing up. By making decisions and ignoring some. After my breakdown I...

My worry about losing the Queen

My worry about losing the Queen would be that she would still be entitled to take money from the Crown Estates. I hope when negotiations are taking place after the referendum, that the SNP would not go soft on this and on a number of other matters, like being over generous with the entitlement...
